“Where can I go from Your Spirit?  Or where can I flee from Your presence?  If I ascend to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, the nether world, the place of the dead, behold, You are there.  If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Your right hand will take hold of me.” Psalm 139:7-10

[Jesus teaching] “’But God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive and green today and tomorrow is cut and thrown as fuel into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you?  You of little faith!

“’Therefore do not worry or be anxious, perpetually uneasy or distracted, saying, ‘What are we going to eat?’  Or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’  For the pagan Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; but do not worry, for your heavenly Father knows that you need them.’” Matthew 6:30-32

[Jesus teaching] “’Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.  Are not two little sparrows sold for a copper coin?  And yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.

“’But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered for the Father is sovereign and has complete knowledge.  So do not fear; you are move valuable than many sparrows.’” Matthew 10:28-31

“To know that God knows every thought and deed, and we cannot hide from Him, is enough to make every sinner tremble.  Excuses do not stand up before an all-knowing God.[1]

As a Christian, it is a great comfort to realise God knows your past challenges, present struggles and the growing you will do into the future.  When you consider all of God’s attributes combined, you can rest assured that you are not alone on your journey.

The first time I read Psalm 139, I was stunned and a little afraid.  I was an isolated and lonely little girl who conducted an ongoing dialogue with God.  I was pretty sure He didn’t have time to listen to me, but He was my ‘pretend Friend’.  Psalm 139 was the key for me to dispel my concerns as I began to learned to trust and rest in Him and His love.

That is the message we find in Scripture and in particular Psalm 139 is a comforting reminder of how close He watches over us.

God is eternal, the Creator of all, all powerful, unchangeable, everywhere and He knows it all.

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you each day)

Pray for those in full-time service

Pray to uphold our Christian leaders – that they never compromise God’s Word, are bold and courageous in the face of evil.  Pray for their wisdom, safety, ingenuity, strength and for their families.

Pray for those with ongoing health concerns

Many of us have family, friends and loved ones with fragile health.  Pray God takes special care with them and protects them in practical ways and that the Lord will have mercy on them during this challenging time.
