Weekend Assignment - With Love, Part 2

"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.

"And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance, and perseverance, proven character, and proven character, hope,; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

"For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.  For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die.  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."  Romans 5:1-8

2. Be prayerful.  What if it's too late?  -- Love is a fruit of the Spirit.  Ask God to help you love as He loves. -- Ask the same God who raised the dead to resurrect the embers of your love."*

Weekend Assignment:  A verb is an action word...so in the first section of the Scripture above, we find these verbs:  having been justified, have, have obtained, stand, exult.   There are some substantial verbs in the next two sections, you need to notice.  Then think about them in relation to prayer.  Enjoy!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene

With Love - Three Reminders - 1

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is in the Lord.  For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8

"O God, Thou art my God; I shall seek Thee earnestly; my soul thirsts for Thee, my flesh yearns for Thee, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.  Thus I have beheld Thee in the sanctuary, to see Thy power and Thy glory.

"Because Thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise Thee.  So I will bless Thee as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Thy name.  My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness and my mouth offers praise with joyful lips." Psalm 63:1-5

1. "Be careful. -- let God's love be enough for you.  there are seasons when God allows us to feel the frailty of human love so we'll appreciate the strength of His love."*

Without God's love our lives are like empty deserts, dry and lonely and life taking.  Our lives are now like the most magnificent tree planted by a stream that grows and flourished so that others may be attracted out of the desert to come and drink of His love.  Even in the worst of times, what could be more powerful?

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene

The Great Mystery

"The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; neither is He served by human hands as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all life and breath and all things;

"and He made from one, every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times, and the boundaries of their habitation, that they should seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him, and find Him though He is not far from each one of us, for in Him we live and move and exist,..." Acts 17:24-27

"In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation [full, complete and perfect payment] for our sins." I John 4:10

"Real love changes people.  Didn't God's love change you?  Weren't you -- blind?  You couldn't see beyond the grave.  You couldn't see your purpose in life until He showed you.

"And you couldn't hear either.  Oh, your ears functioned, but your heart didn't understand.  You'd never heard of such love and kindness, and you never would have heard of it, but God spoke in your language.

"And, most of all, He set you free.  You are free!  Free to run away.  Free to harden your heart.  Free to duck down side streets and hide behind trans cans.  But you don't.  Or if you do, you come back.  Why?  Because you've never been loved like this before."*

God does not want us to harken back in longing for what we once were, because His love is changing us every day to be more like His beloved Son!  Now that IS the great mystery!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene

  • ·        Adrian - has his day of chemo treatment 5 August.  The new pain in Adrian's body is growing again and he needs a special procedure to diagnose the cause, but it keeps getting delayed.  Please pray the hospital will find a time for him.  Pray God protects him and continues to give him strength.
