What Would YOU Say?

"And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders, and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice,

"'Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honour and glory and blessing."

"And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying,

"'To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honour and glory and dominion forever and ever,'

"And the four living creatures kept saying, 'Amen.'  And the elders fell down and worshiped." Revelation 5: 11-14

Angels, living creatures, elders, every created thing in heaven, on earth and under the earth and in the seas will sing in harmony to Jesus.

Our Saviour is worthy to receive our respect, trust and most of all our grateful love and thanksgiving.  And when we join Him in heaven we will enjoy spending our time reminding Him of our grateful hearts.  What song do you think you may sing to Him?

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene

Our New Song

"And they sang a new song, saying, 'Worthy art Thou to take the book, and to break its seals; for Thou wast slain, and didst purchase for God with Thy blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.

"And Thou hast made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.'" Revelation 5:9-10

"'Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father's house are many dwelling places ; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.

"'And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am there you may be also.  And you know the way where I am going.'

"Thomas said to him, 'Lord, we do not know  where You are going, how do we know the way?'  Jesus said to him, 'I am the way and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.'" John 14:1-6

In John, Christ is comforting His disciples.  He has washed their feet, fed them and anointed Judas to do what he must do.  His promise stands for us today of eternal life in Him.  And one day we will sing a new song to Him in thanksgiving and humility for His remarkable plan even to the ends of the earth.  Now that's neat!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene

Starving in Heaven

"And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth.  And He came, and He took it out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.

"And when He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, having each one a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints." Revelation 5:6-8

Earlier in this series, we met these four creatures, we have read about seven, the purpose of the seven Spirits of God and the twenty-four elders who wait with the Father as the bowls are filled with holy and righteous prayers.

We will never fully understand all the details of this "dream" book because words fail us when we try to describe the impossible and the wonderful.

But we do have the privilege to pray for understanding of what we read and study of His precious Word, in His name and for His purposes.  Let's fill the bowls today so those waiting do not starve for lack.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene

Get Rome!

"And I began to weep greatly, because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look into it; and one of the leaders said to me, 'Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and the seven seals.'" Revelation 5:4-5

This is the only place where the two Old Testament messianic titles (Lion of Judah and Root of David are used).  John was writing for the times around him and Rome was the mortal enemy of most everyone, but especially the "trouble-making", uncompromising new sect of Christ followers.  The lion was the common symbol of overcoming Rome.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene
