in 4 Very Simple Steps - THE BEAT by
Allen Parr
“In the beginning God, Elohim, created by forming from
nothing the heavens and earth.” Genesis 1:1
“’Hear, O Israel!
The Lord is our God, the Lord is one, the only God!” Deuteronomy 6:4
“After Jesus was baptised, He came up immediately out of
the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he, John, saw the Spirit of
God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, and behold a voice from heaven
said, ‘This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased and delighted!’”
Matthew 3:16-17
“In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and
was baptised by John in the Jordan.
Immediately coming up out of the water, he, John, saw the heavens torn
open, and the Spirit like a dove descending on Him, Jesus; and a voice came out
of heaven saying: ‘You are My beloved
Son, in You I am well-pleased and delighted!’
Immediately the Holy Spirit forced Him out into the wilderness.” Mark 1:9-12
“God is one in essence and one in Godhead, but three in
Person … Christ is the eternal Son.
Being the Son of God refers to His relationship and not to His origin.[1]”
Christ was never created by God the Father, for He is
Himself God … He was begotten by the Father when ‘the Holy Spirit came upon Mary
and the power of the Most-High overshadowed her like a cloud (Luke 1:35). In this way He was born fully a human being
(taking the form of a man).”
Elohim is the word used in Genesis 1:1. It is a remarkably special word that means ‘three-persons’. The Trinity includes the Father, the Son and
the Holy Spirit. The Bible describes
each One as equal in glory, power and strength, character, love and grace.
Although there are many illustrations used to try to
understand this (for example, water can be solid, vapour and liquid or a person
can be a father, husband and child) none can encompass the wonder of the
Trinity, because it is unique, ethereal and sacred.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you each day)
