Whose In Who?

“Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.  But we all with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord the Spirit.

“Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart, but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the Word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscious in the sight of God.

“For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servant for Jesus’ sake.  For God who said, ‘Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shown in our hearts to give the light of knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.  But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves;” II Corinthians 3:17-4:1-7

“Scripture sometimes interchanges expressions that speak of ‘Christ in us’ and the ‘Spirit in us’.  This is not to create confusion, or to indicate a dual presence in the life of a Christian, with Christ and the Spirit maintaining a separate identify and fulfilling a separate role, it is the Holy Spirit who lives the life of Jesus Christ within us, and who desires to express the character of Jesus Christ through us.  The Spirit’s presence and working is entirely Christ-centred and Christ-related.”*

There is a reason Christ works His purpose out in our lives through the ministry of the Holy Spirit...to grow more into the image of the Lord so more are attracted to Him!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
