He Makes Stuff, Part 1

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  And the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.” Genesis 1:1-2

“Thou dost send forth Thy Spirit, they are created; and Thou dost renew the face of the ground.  Let the glory of the Lord endure forever; let the Lord be glad in His works;” Psalms 104:30

“’The spirit of God’ suggests the idea that the will of God was expressed in the Word of God, but fulfilled by the Spirit of God.  The Father expresses His mind and purpose in His Son, described as the ‘Word of God’ (John 1:1), but it is implemented by the Spirit who brings it into being.  The primary purpose of this study is to discover who is it that comes to live within the lives of forgiven sinners.”*

It is easy to “forget” the Holy Spirit is co-equal with our Father-God and His Son, Jesus Christ.  The world and sometimes religion focuses more on the “Spirit” as an airy-fairy type of soft, wispy presence that flows around making music or they give Him all the credit for everything that happens, as if He is only here to perform magic tricks for our amusement.

NEW PRAYER REQUESTS:  Pray for me today for a meeting I have that the result will please the Lord and help with the present urgent situation.  As scientists are “near to finding the ‘God particle’”, we need to keep praying they get some sense!  Pray for those suffering under the extreme weather effects:  USA bad storms, fires & heat wave; India floods (millions homeless and over 100 dead), New Zealand earthquakes.  Pray for the political situation in Mexico.  Pray for the banking industry that some God-directed course corrections are made without the man on the street being increasingly damaged.

Adrian needs help badly!  Where are God’s “angels” in Queensland!?  The Kossallys - travelling mercies for their trip through the USA to Jamaica and back.  Tim B’s sister just passed away.  Barbara’s (sister-in-law) and Hans’ (friend) projects have both ended and they need new work.  (Hans needs paying work – he’s been volunteering to fill the time.)
PRAISE & THANKSGIVING:  Kent’s mother recovering well. 

PRAY FOR THOSE WITH HEALTH CONCERNS:  Pray for Deborah and her husband.  Paul NS.  Adrian’s pain meds still not working well.  Tim (my little brother), feeling stronger but needs financial help, especially with no health insurance.  Pray he secures a disability pension.   For Michael C, with his own health concerns & for his wife, Diane, as his mother is fading away with Alzheimer’s and ill health.  David still needs prayer for his health, but is doing better.  Steve Barns for relief from great pain and depression. 

For a solution for Audley and Beverly (she’s disabled from a stroke and needs a carer during the day so Audley can go out and work).  Tim B with headaches, that his doctor will OK a new procedure for relief.  For Carlton suffering from horrible infections in his bones. 

Deb, special friend with multiple Myeloma (please see her blog at this LINK. (http://debdarley.blogspot.com/ )  Wisdom for doctors caring for so many, including Tim, Doris, David, Gary and Annette’s friend Sue.

ONGOING PRAYER REQUESTS:  Pray the Lord’s hand is dramatically apparent in the lives of all who receive and read this devotion...that His mighty works would be worked out in each life for His purposes!  Cucuawe for strength.  Galdor recovering from the loss of his mother and his quest for a new job.  For Yourri who lost a friend.  Please pray for Deepak as he struggles through some challenges.  For Reg and his ministry, that the Lord would bless him in unexpected ways.  An unspoken request for help from mounting fear and financial failure.

For Roger as he considers options for a pledge of heart.  Adam who is becoming involved with a cult that’s filling many unmet needs.  Scott, for strength as he struggles and grows ( and for Donna as she encourages him).  For David K, in his studies.  Isaias (health, strength and family safety as he continues his mission work in Philippines); for Kevin (Godly wisdom with his son), Michael. 

PRAY FOR THE WORLD:  God’s grace on USA & REVIVAL for His children there and for the many nations suffering from global financial mis-management.

ONGOING JOB RELATED: That Tim and Blacky might find satisfying work.  Paul K who resigned from his job and is setting up a consultancy.
