Tackling the Trinity, part 1

“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this Law.” Deuteronomy 29:29

“All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:16

“There are three separate Beings, with different identities and different roles.  They are all God, but there is only one God.  Yet the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Spirit and the Spirit is not the Father, although they are all the One God!  The fact that this exceeds our understanding should not bother us unduly.  If God is God we would expect aspects of His Being and methods of His working to be outside of our limited understanding.”*

There is something in us all that brings joy from solving mysteries, whether it is a Rubik’s Cube, a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle, a TV mystery, etc.  We love to figure out who done it, how it was done and why.  This must be one of the most common drivers in the human heart.  It is also probably why many pre-Christians delay their decision to accept the free gift of gracious salvation from Jesus...because there seems too much a mystery to it.  Some things we can never understand and must accept with humility and trust.  The Trinity is one of these things.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
