He Makes Stuff, Part 2

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.  And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:1-5, 12-13

“I would remind you that if part of the Holy Spirit’s job in the past has been to create something out of nothing, then to create something out of your life is not going to be His most difficult task.  I am frustrated by people I talk with who have no difficulty believing that God could create the universe, but do have difficulty believing God can do something worthwhile with them!  The One who brought things into being in the first place will live within you and make your life His workshop!”*

Perhaps the plague of low self-esteem (not pride and not self-confidence), even in Christians today, has something to do with the passage in John.  “Our Father”, as one of my early mentors used to say, “don’t make no junk!”  He made us and loved us enough to send His only begotten Son to the Cross so we could spend eternity with Him.

Stop!  Think for one moment about how MUCH He must love you...no matter what is happening in your life right this moment...the pain, the confusion, the challenges, the victories, whatever is happening right now.  The mistakes you’ve made, the past you would like to live over again...He blends and weaves ALL into something beautiful for His glory.  That’s making something!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
