“In the beginning before all time there was the Word, Jesus Christ, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.  He was continually existing in the beginning, co-eternally with God.

“All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being.

“In Him was life and the power to bestow life, and the life was the Light of men.  The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it and is unreceptive to it.” John 1:1-5

Nature proves the Creator God, but not His will for us.  That’s where the Living Word comes in.  However, in order for us to understand the character of God and His will for us regarding salvation, God Himself came down to dwell with us as Jesus Christ.

“Being God, Christ lived the holiness and mercy of God, and spoke the judgment and will of God for us.  By His life He gave us an example of Christian living and by His death He provided for our salvation.”[1]

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you each day)

NEW PRAYER REQUESTS

·      UPDATE -Israel – for the time being there is a cease fire and the clean-up and finger pointing is beginning.  Many on both sides have been wounded and some have died.  Pray God protects His chosen people and land as only He can.  Let His power and love of Israel be demonstrated clearly for all to see and let there be peace for now.  We must be ever watchful.

·      Rozzy and Jono – will soon board a plane from Sydney to Vancouver Island to serve on the mission field to work with the youth in the mid-north coast (the neediest of the Gospel location in North America).  Pray for travelling mercies, robust health and that God will grant them a child.

·      Louise, sister of Rachael – has come through the surgery (double mastectomy) successfully and had a second surgery for the reconstruction that didn’t go well.  Please pray as she waits for another month or so for the second surgery and that it will be safe and successful.  Pray for her family and supporters and her health care providers that they have compassion and wisdom.  They did get all the cancer, so that is a thanksgiving point.

·      Isaias and Judith (Ambassadors for Christ the Philippines) – the entire Catorce family represent this conservative, Bible-based ministry in a remarkably difficult mission field.  They have maintained a teaching seminary and discipling ministry there for dozens of years.  They are both facing serious health issues and need your fervent prayers.  Judith has just come through her complicated back surgery and is recovering.  Please visit their new website:  https://afcph.org/  to learn more.  Pray our Father keep these servants strong and restores their health.  They still need an additional $4,000 for the surgery.  Thank the Lord for those who have now donated $8,000).  If you are unable to donate, please consider sending a note of encouragement to Isaias Catorce, who teaches and leads the groups at icatorce@gmail.com

·      URGENT - Indiathe situation there is grim with a second wave of COVID-19.  Pray for those suffering, the tireless healthcare workers and those who support them, including the many burying the bodies.

·      Sophie – three-year old daughter of a friend is now home from an extended stay in the hospital but still frail and unwell.  Please continue to pray for her, her parents and health carers that they will discover the problem and fix it.

·      Tim – my brother – for his strength and wisdom and that he rests safely and soundly in the arms of the Lord while he works through a difficult challenge.  Thanksgiving and praise that the Lord has provided a new health carer who seems competent and skilled.

·      Ray Sr. – battling cancer and has been moved to respite care.  Pray the Lord opens His heart to the Truth of salvation and through this time, relationships with family are strengthened and that Ray Jr and Kathy would be able to know of his decision.

·      Jenny S – Bible teacher at a local Bible school for curiosity under change, as the vision of her organisation changes with new leadership.  Help her identify the balance of her unique contribution with the new focus.  Pray the Lord maintains her health as she walks through this time of stress.

·      David – as his health waxes and wanes during this challenging time.  Pray for Heidi who cares for him and his little companion dog, Sparky.  Pray God watches over him and steadies his steps and his heart.

·      Cathy – as she faces stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  Her chemo has begun.  She had her CAT scan.  No results yet.  She is Barb (my sister-in-law’s) sister-in-law.  They have a beautiful family.  Please pray for them and their health carers as they travel through this journey.

·      Pat and Isobel – as they serve tirelessly, pray the Lord refreshes and strengthens them.

·      Hans – a dear friend in Germany, continues his immunotherapy for lung cancer.  Pray for his ongoing strength through the pain, patience and God’s mercy.  Continue to pray for his healthcare providers and that he is surrounded by faithful and compassionate Christian friends who will support him through this journey.  Pray for his Mom (age 83) who is unwell herself, that their time together will be filled with extraordinary good memories and lots of love.

·      Callilah - a lost child.  Pray the Lord will capture her heart.

Pray for those in full-time service

Pray to uphold our Christian leaders – that they never compromise God’s Word, are bold and courageous in the face of evil.  Pray for their wisdom, safety, ingenuity, strength and for their families.

Pray for those with ongoing health concerns

Many of us have family, friends and loved ones with fragile health.  Pray God takes special care with them and protects them in practical ways and that the Lord will have mercy on them during this challenging time.

Pray for the World
