"The Heavens Declare" (Esther Mui)

“Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said, ‘Who is this that darkens counsel, questioning My authority and wisdom by words without knowledge?  Now gird up your loins like a man, and I will ask you, and you will instruct Me!

“’Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?  Tell Me, if you know and have understanding.  Who determined the measurements of the earth, if you know?  Or who stretched the measuring line on it?  On what were its foundations fastened?  Or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sand together and all the sons of God, the angels shouted for joy?

“’Or who enclosed the sea with doors when it burst forth and went out of the womb; when I made the clouds its garment and thick darkness its swaddling band, and marked for it My appointed boundary and set bars and doors, defining the shorelines, and said, ‘This far you shall come, but no farther; and here your proud waves shall stop’?’” Job 38:1-11

Most of us instinctively respond to the seeming hiddenness of God by ignoring Him.  Like a child who hides his eyes and is sure no one can see him now, we refuse to acknowledge God when He persists in being silent.

Like a child we figure if He won’t reveal Himself to us or tell us what He wants us to do, then we will just ignore Him.  Job certainly learned some big lessons by the end of the book, yet, God never gave him an answer ‘why’.

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you each day)
