By Music Meets Heaven

[Jesus teaching] “’Therefore, I tell you, stop being worried or anxious, perpetually uneasy and distracted about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear.  Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing?

“’Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow seed nor reap the harvest nor gather the crops into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them.  Are you not worth much more than they?  And who of you by worrying can add one hour to the length of his life?

“’And why are you worried about clothes?  See how the lilies and wildflowers of the field grow; they do not labour nor do they spin wool to make clothing, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory and splendour dressed himself like one of these.

"'But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive and green today and tomorrow is cut and thrown as fuel into the furnace, will He not much more cloth you?  You of little faith!

“’But first and most importantly seek, aim at, strive after His kingdom and His righteousness, His way of doing and being right, the attitude and character of God, and all these things will be given to you also.’” Matthew 6:25-34 (selected) The Amplified Bible

Sometimes our prayers seem to, as Shakespeare, flight to heaven while our thoughts remain below – meaning we keep worrying about them rather than releasing them into the hands of our loving and compassionate Saviour, Jesus Christ.

This assignment is about making time and ‘effort’ to give those prayers back into His care.

·      Find an hour and quiet place where you can think, pray and be alone with the Father.

·      Bring your Bible, notebook, writing implement and a refreshment.

·      Re-watch the video.

·      Settle in and pray that the Lord opens your eyes to His wisdom and perspective.  Ask Him to remind you of prayers you continue to ‘worry’ over and ask Him to give you courage to release them into His hands.

·      Write a list of those prayers and this week use the list in your prayer time to remind you of where they are right now and thank Him.

·      Know your prayers may not be answered when and how you wish, but they will be answered.  Thank Him for listening and caring.

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you each day)
