IT'S NOT YOURS!

“He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves abundance with its income.  This too is vanity.  When good things increase, those who consume them increase.  So what is the advantage to their owners except to look on?

“The sleep of the working man is pleasant, whether he eats little or much; but the full stomach of the rich man does not allow him to sleep.  There is a grievious evil which I have seen under the sun; riches being hoarded by their owner to his hurt.  When those riches were lost through a bad investment and he had fathered a son, then there was nothing to support him.

“As he had come naked from his mother’s womb, so will he return as he came.  He will take nothing from the fruit of his labour that he can carry in his hand.  This also is a grievious evil – exactly as a man is born, thus will he die.  So what is the advantage to him who toils for the wind?”  Ecclesiastes 5:10-17

The Lord owns all the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10).  He made it all in its own time.  He owns it all:  your house, your shoes and clothes, every penny, every loaf of bread, the keys to your house and your house!  Just think of it1

It is an easy mistake to build your confidence and your future in what you think you earned, own and deserve.  As Solomon noted throughout Ecclesiastes, riches is vanity!  And as Timothy reminds us, it is not money that is evil, it is our attitude toward money that can be our downfall (I Timothy 6:10).

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who still prays for you each morning.  Darlene

  • ·        Sergio – found a job for now, but it is wearing him out physically.  His diabetes is presently under control and he’s found a place to live.  Thank you for praying and please do not stop.
