“Yet He commanded the clouds above
and opened the doors of heaven; He rained down manna upon them to eat and gave
them food from heaven. …He caused the
east wind to blow in the heavens and by His power He directed the south
wind.
“When He rained meat upon them
like the dust, even winged fowl like the sand of the seas, then He let them
fall in the midst of their camp, round about their dwellings. So they ate and were well filled, and their
desire He gave to them. Before they had
satisfied their desire, while their food was in their mouths, the anger of God
rose against them and killed some of their stoutest ones, and subdued the
choice men of Israel.
“In spite of all this they still
sinned and did not believe in His wonderful works. So He brought their days to an end [consumed] in futility and their years in
sudden terror. When He killed them, then
they sought Him, and returned and searched diligently for God and they
remembered that God was their rock, and the Most High God their Redeemer.” Psalm
78:23-35 (selected)
Have you ever wondered how easy it
is to wander in disobedience to His perfect will for your life? I have.
One minute I’m reading Scripture or singing a hymn or listening to a
great teacher convict me to higher growth and then I am somewhere wallowing in
my imagination or taking action I KNOW is not glorifying for my Lord who died to
save me from just such moments!.
God does not leave us, even though
we stray He is always there, no matter how difficult it must be for Him. Thank Him right now for I John 1:9 (oh and perhaps
read verses 8 and 10 as well).
Take care with love, especially
His! Your servant and friend in Christ,
who still prays for you each morning.
Darlene
