[Jesus teaching] “’Do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and
rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
"'But
lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust
destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure
is, there will your heart be also.’” Matthew
6:19-21
- 30% of the world’s individuals live on the equivalent of a US dollar a day.
- Only 19% have access to any healthcare.
- Perhaps as many as 30% have access to safe water.
- About 30% of the global workforce can’t find gainful employment.
- Over 50% of the world’s people have never made one phone call.
Christ died for the unworthy, the
unlovable, the unfulfilled, the unhappy, the poor and the pitiful sinners who
others simply pass by. He stopped. He touched and He cared to invest in
them...as he invested in you.
What might that mean for you today?
“Instruct
those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their
hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all
things to enjoy.
"Instruct
them to do good, to be ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure
of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which
is life indeed.” I Timothy 6:17-19
Take care with love, especially His! Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays
for you each morning, Darlene
