"Therefore
we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man
is being renewed day by day; for momentary, light affliction is producing for
us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at
the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen for the things
which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. -
Therefore,
being always of good courage, and knowing that we are at home in the body we
are absent from the Lord - for we walk by faith, not by sight -" II Corinthians 4:16-18, 5:6-7
"So
we do not give up. Our physical body is
becoming older and weaker, but our spirit inside us is made new every day. We have small troubles for a while now, but
they are helping us gain an eternal glory.
"That
glory is much greater than the troubles.
So we set our eyes not on what we see but on what we cannot see.
What
we see will last only a short time. But
what we cannot see will last forever. So
we always have courage. We know that
while we live in this body, we are away from the Lord. We live by what we believe, not by what we
can see." - New Century Version
Research indicates a person who has
healthy sight takes in about 60% of their impressions of the world around them
through their eyes. As Christians our
focus needs to on Christ rather than on the world and circumstances around us. We need to ask Him to give us the eyes to see
as He sees.
Take care with love, especially His! Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays
for you each morning, Darlene
