"At
that time Jesus answered and said, 'I praise Thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and
earth, that Thou didst hide these things from the wise and intelligent and
didst reveal them to babes. Yes, Father,
for thus it was well-pleasing in Thy sight.
"'All
things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son,
except the Father, nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and anyone
to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.'"
Matthew 11:25-27
"And
seeing the multitudes, He felt compassion for them, because they were
distressed and downcast like sheep without a shepherd.
"Then
He said to His disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are
few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the
harvest to send out workers into His harvest.'" Matthew 9:36-38
The world is increasingly filled with
danger and confusion. People (and animals)
are being commoditised. The environment
is being minimized by greed and disregard.
People's darker nature is being preened
through the media. Some days it seems
just too hard to walk the narrow path behind the Lord. Yet, we only have to remember how things were
BEFORE we gave our lives to follow Him.
To know He never gave up on us while we
were yet sinners. To know He lives today
to strengthen us for His labour -- this can give us the strength we need to
keep following. As we approach the day
of His resurrection it is a good time to consider many things.
Take care with love, especially His! Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays
for you each morning, Darlene
