Consequences

"Now hear this, heads of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, who abhor justice and twist everything that is straight, who build Zion with bloodshed and Jerusalem with violent injustice.

"Her leaders pronounce judgment for a bribe, her priests instruct for a price, and her prophets divine for money.  Yet they lean on the Lord saying, 'Is not the Lord in our midst?  Calamity will not come upon us.'  Therefore on account of you, Zion will be ploughed as a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of ruins, and the mountains of the temple will become high places of a forest."  Micah 3:9-12

Poor Micah, called from a little farming town to go to the big city and tell the leaders and priests there that they were out of order and to deliver an unbelievable message!  Yet his message was the Lord's.

The leaders and priests had come to favour those who gave large donations to them and they watered down the Truth so as not to offend their supporters.  Preaching and teaching should never be motivated by the promise of personal gain.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
