WEAKEND ASSIGNMENT

Or search YouTube for
Psalm 139 - Far Too Wonderful
by Shane & Shane (Lyric Video) | Christian Worship Music

Find your Bible, a notebook and writing implement.  Make a cup of coffee, tea, milk, juice or just water.  Go into your ‘prayer closet’ or just a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.  I have found a memorial bench outside a rarely-visited local library that is a good place.

After you’re settled, spend some time in prayer, quieting your heart and asking the Lord to give you new insight as you read.  Now, open to the Psalms and find 139.  Read it through entirely.

Read it a second time but this time, stop after each of the 24 verses.  Write the verse number you’ve just read and then write your thoughts, for instance:

  1. How did the words touch you?
  2. What did you learn about you and God?
  3. A precious realisation
  4. A surprising  an insight
  5. What can you apply in your own life
  6. How did the Lord speak to your heart?

Make it personal.  For example:  1.  ‘Searched’ is PAST tense!  Father you know stuff about me from always!

When you have finished.  Read through your thoughts and pray in thanksgiving for the insights.  And enjoy!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who still prays for you each morning.  Darlene

PS:  Please pray for this ministry.  This is the 20th year of endeavouring to serve others in His name to offer a smattering of Scripture daily.  Find my statement of faith by clicking (or cut and paste this link into your Web browser):  https://especiallyhislove.blogspot.com   You can find the WeakDay Devotion online by doing a Google search for “WeakDay Devotion”  (Also, there is a “Google Blogger” App you can download to read them on your phone.)
