“So the Lord said to me, ‘Do not pray for the welfare of this people. When they fast, I am not going to listen to
their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I am not
going to accept them. Rather I am going
to make an end of [consume] them
by the sword, famine and pestilence.’
“But, ‘Ah, Lord God!’ I said, ‘Look the prophets are telling them,’ You
will not see the sword nor will you have famine but I will give you lasting
peace in this place.’’
“Then the Lord said to me, ‘The prophets are prophesying falsehood in My
name. I have neither sent them nor
commanded them nor spoken to them; they are prophesying to you a false vision,
divination, futility and the deception f their own minds.’” Jeremiah 14:12-14
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but
wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves
teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn away their ears from
the truth and will turn aside to myths.” II Timothy 4:3-4
There are times when it is difficult to know what is true and what is
false. We are surrounded by messages,
some are confident, some sound wise and based on fact, some are amazing, some
hard to believe, some so sensible and some sound spiritual and inspirational
how can we even hope to know what is true and what is false?
The only way to know is to know God’s Word. When you do, even though you may disobey, you
still know what is right. God is no
fool! As in the time of Jeremiah, many
false prophets exist today who are eager to draw people away from His
Truth. Be wise, discerning and prepared.
Take care with love, especially His!
Your servant and friend in Christ, who still prays for you each
morning. Darlene
