This Way Please...

“’But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.  And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you no longer behold Me; and concerning judgement because the ruler of this world has been judged.

I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.  But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.’” John 16:7-13

“As we diligently study the Bible and think carefully and clearly about its truth, the Spirit will guide our thinking and bring us into all truth.

“You can only guide something that is moving, and the idea that the Spirit will just give us the truth from nowhere is not implied in this verse at all, but it is AS we are ACTIVELY engaged in seeking for truth.”*

Being a Christian is not about standing still in our faith, it is about growing more into the image of Jesus Christ, the beloved Son of our Father-God.  The Holy Spirit in us, does not push or pull us...He leads us...we have a choice to follow or not.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
