Listen to His voice

“And while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’  Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.  So being sent out by the Holy Spirit they went down to Seleucia and from there they sailed to Cyprus.” Acts 13:2

“And He said, ‘Go, and tell this people:  ‘Keep on listening, but do not perceive; keep on looking, but do not understand.  Render the hearts of this people insensitive, their ears dull, and their eyes dim, let they see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and return and be healed.’” Isaiah 6:9-10

“And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, ‘The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers.” Acts 28:25

“Throughout Scripture we find the Holy Spirit engaging in activities that are possible only to a personal being, such as speaking. – Many times the Spirit is spoken of as speaking.  How He speaks is basically His own business!  It would be dangerous to limit Him to certain areas, or to expect Him to speak only in predictable ways.  Suffice it to say, when God wants you or me to know something, it will be the Holy Spirit’s task to tell it to us in whatever way suits Him.”*

We are not alone; and the times we fear we are, we always can hear His voice reassuring us, if we will only listen – through good times and times of panic and chaos and fear...the Holy Spirit is right with us...ready to remind us of the Father’s love.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
