Theocracy

“’Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.  I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;’ and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.’” Acts 20:28-30

“The church is not intended to be a democracy, where the leaders do what the majority of the people want, but a theocracy where the leaders implement what God wants.  In the Bible the majority were almost always wrong!  A church run on democratic principles is almost bound to come into conflict with the will of God sooner or later.”*

Democracy works in the real world, especially if those who lead are humbled and inspired by the Holy Spirit within their hearts.  But democracy is not the founding principle of the body of believers.  There is only one head and that is Jesus Christ.  Sometimes is seems so difficult to take worldly concepts out of heavenly matters...but it must be done!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
