Wiggle A Finger

“But some of them said, ‘He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.’  And others, to test Him were demanding of Him a sign from heaven.  But He knew their thoughts, and said to them, ‘Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and a house divided against itself falls.  And if Satan also is divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand?

“’For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul, and if I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out?  Consequently they shall be your judges.  But if I cast out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.’” Luke 11:15-20

“The ONLY means of forgiveness is the application of the death of Christ in response to the convicting work of the Holy Spirit.  It is the Spirit that makes us aware of our sin, and who points us to the way out of our sin through Christ.  To resist the working of the Holy Spirit therefore is to close any way of obtaining forgiveness, which is exactly what the scribes were doing when Jesus warned them of the possibility of unforgiveness.”*

Stop a moment right now and look at your hands.  Pick one of your fingers --doesn’t matter which one.  Christ is so strong and so perfect He only needs to wiggle His finger to dispense with evil.  Knowing this, we can rely on His power to help us overcome anything in our lives and forgive our trespasses – all of them – past, present and future.  His death AND resurrection displayed power beyond imagination, not just in His sacrificing His life for us, but for His trust in the Father’s plan to save the world!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
