“’These things I have spoken to you, while abiding with you.  But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.  Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.’” John 14:26

“’But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own imitative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.  He shall glorify Me; for He shall take of Mine, and shall disclose it to you.  All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said, that He takes of Mine, and will disclose it to you.’” John 16:13-15

“Although sometimes the Holy Spirit is described as being like wind or like fire (in fact both the Hebrew and the Greek word for ‘Spirit’ in the Old and New Testament is the same as the word for ‘wind’) we must not see Him as something but as someone.  He is a person.

“The composite qualities of personality are the abilities to think, to feel and to decide.  That is to possess a mind, emotions and a will.  The Holy Spirit does not have a physical body, and neither does the Father but personality is not a physical attribute, it is a combination of three qualities.”*

The focus of our walk is not on the work or person of the Holy Spirit; the focus is to be thanksgiving for the grace of the Father toward us as individuals in providing a perfect sacrificial payment for our sins in Christ.  The Holy Spirit lives in our lives to keep Christ at the forefront of our thinking so we may accomplish the work Christ has left us to do:  grow more into the image of Christ and thereby witness/ testify about His work in our hearts, so others may seek and find Christ.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
