“’You, O king, were looking, and behold, there was a single
great statue; this image, which was large and of unsurpassed splendour, stood
before you, and its appearance was awesome and terrifying.
“’As for this statue, its head was made of fine gold, its
breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of bronze, its legs of
iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay pottery. As you were looking, a stone was cut out
without human hands, and it struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and
crushed them.
“’Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and
the gold were crushed together and became like the chaff from the summer threshing
floors; and the wind carried them away so that not a trace of them could be
found. And the stone that struck the
statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.’” Daniel 2:31-35
“The writers of Scripture very often did not fully understand
what they wrote. They could not, because
much of what they wrote has only recently come to pass.[1]”
Just think about Daniel or John, writing Revelation! How confused they must have been. Yet, they were obedient and wrote
what they had been given. Last week I
shared just a little bit about ongoing archaeological discoveries that have
substantiate the many historical references, names and places written in the
pages of Scripture.
There are many mysteries to be revealed, and we can
trust in and obey the lessons there without having all the answers -- yet. This is just one of many amazing proofs of
the Bible!
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you each day)
