The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir - Psalm 34 (Live)

“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.  My soul will make its boast in the Lord; the humble will hear it and rejoice.  O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.

“I sought the Lord, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.  They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces will never be ashamed.  This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.  The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and rescues them.

“O taste and see that the Lord is good; how blessed is the man who  takes refuge in Him!  O fear the Lord, you His saints; for those who fear Him there is no want.” Psalm 34:1-9

Assignment:

  • 1.     Listen to the music selection above, and quiet your heart and pray.
  • 2.     Find your Bible and read the rest of Psalm 34.
  • 3.     Then read (or better yet, write out) the verses, personalising them by making each of the verses apply to you and your walk:
  • Example:  Verse 9:  O help me fear and reverence the Lord, for I am one of His saints; and because I fear Him there is no want in my life.”
  • 4.     Once you’ve completed this ‘personal Psalm’ reread it on Saturday and Sunday
  • 5.     Thank and praise the Lord that He caused these words to be written to remind you of the message within them.
  • 6.     Share this with another.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who still prays for you each morning.  Darlene

NEW PRAYER REQUESTS

  • ·        El Paso (22 people killed – 27 wounded) and Dayton Ohio (9 dead – 26 wounded)- by random shooters.  Pray for the families and friends affected, the law enforcement officers affected who will be dealing with the ‘alleged’ perpetrators (one was killed the other captured) and for wisdom and compassion for the health care providers (physical and emotional) dealing with those wounded.  Finally, pray these two cities look to the Great Comforter as they begin to recover and heal and that the nation bows the knee to Christ.
  • ·        Dale – Pray for his bodily healing, that doctors do not overprescribe for his pain, for restoration of a life-time friendship and, most of all, for clarity of Salvation.
  • ·        Gary McQ – will have major heart surgery this week to replace four valves.  Pray family and friends will rally to his side to encourage him.  Pray for his strength, courage and for his heart to be at peace as the Lord guides the hands of the surgeons and other health carers to repair his physical heart.
  • ·        Ray’s Dad -  (also called Ray) has been diagnosed with cancer.  Please pray that through this difficult and scary time that the Lord would touch his heart so he reaches out for the only hand that can save him, the compassionate Lord Jesus.
  • ·        Simon Flinders (my pastor) and family – now on long-service leave.   Pray for their refreshment and deepening of family bonds.  Pray the family enjoys time to focus on the love of their Saviour and all the gifts and blessings He has provided them.
