By Christian Sermons and Audio Books (13 min 40 sec)
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God. He was in the
beginning with God. All things came into
being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come
into being. In Him was life, and the
life was the Light of men. The Light
shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” John 1:1-5
He wore lederhosen and sat on the edge of the big stage in a
huge auditorium. He held a microphone,
as he spoke. His voice was soft and unhurried. Five days of listening to him freed me to use
my intellect to parse through Scriptures and watch the world around me for
proof of God’s hand.
The Bible is not supposed to be a ‘feel-good’ book, it
details depravity and despair and provids the only hope for the future.
Francis Schaeffer’s book, How Should We Then Live? had
just been published and even today it is chillingly prescience/ foresightful
for the world we are slogging through -- wondering commonly how we could
be where we are today.
Every chapter of his book steps us through the progression
of evil that is so apparent with every passing day. I’m so thankful God allowed me to learn from
this brilliant Christian.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you each day)
