– The Speech That Broke the Internet

Most Inspiring Ever by Lion of Judah (10 m 52 sec)

And Jesus was going about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of diseases and every kind of sickness.  And seeing the multitudes, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and downcast like sheep without a shepherd.

“Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few, therefore, beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.’” Matthew 9:35-38

[Jesus speaking] “’For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.  For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.’” John 3:16-17

We didn’t go to church when we were kids, but Mom never let us miss one of Billy Graham’s Crusades on TV.  Dad would be out working and there the three of us would be…Mom perched on the sofa chain smoking and drinking her black coffee and Tim and I would be sitting as close to the TV as allowed, cross-legged and wondering why this was so important to Mom.  We did like the singing, and we all sang along with Cliff Barrow’s music.

As a grown up, living away from home, saved and loving studying my Bible and hungry for more, I dreamed of helping in a Crusade one day.  I had found one of Mr. Graham’s devotionals and used it for several years, enjoying his gentle and simple approach to convoluted lessons in Scripture.

However, I never got the opportunity to participate in a Crusade until I was just about to be called to Australia (I had no inkling this would happen).  I was in Buffalo, New York and it was an unforgettable year in my life.

Once in Australia it was ‘Christian shell shock’ for me because there were few who would openly share their love of the Lord, even in the church!  But almost everyone remembered that there had been a Crusade in Australia in 1957.

Between 1947 and 2005, Billy Graham conducted 417 Crusades in 185 countries and territories on six continents. It is estimated that he shared the Gospel with over 215 million people through those events.  And it remains a gentle talking point with many who are not yet sure about how to give their lives to the lordship of Jesus Christ.

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you each day)
