Keith & Kristyn Getty, Matt
Boswell, Matt Papa
“Praise the Lord!
Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him for His mighty acts! Praise Him according to the abundance of His
greatness.
“Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with harp and
lyre. Praise Him with tambourine and
dancing; praise Him with stringed instruments and flute.
Praise Him with resounding cymbals; praise Him with loud
cymbals. Let everything that has breath
and every breath of life praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!”
The last Psalm in the Bible, Psalm 150 (The Amplified Bible)
This WeakEnd Assignment continues in Mark. Let’s look more closely at the second
chapter. My plan and prayer is that
during the God’s Word Made Plain[1] series and through the
book of Mark for the WeakEnd Assignments, you will find not only more treasures
in the book, but a new study method to help you as you continue to study the
Bible for yourself.
Find an hour and a place where you will be alone and able to
focus on His Word. Take your Bible, a
notebook, something to write with and a refreshment.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to quiet your heart and give you
new insights as you read His Word. Thank
Him in anticipation. Then open your
Bible to Mark two and read it through one time.
Then use what is there to answer these questions:
1. Where
has Jesus been before verse one of chapter two? (check last week, if you did
the assignment) and where is He now?
2. What
happened because of the crowd?
3. How
did Jesus react and what did He do?
4. What
problem arose and from whom?
5. Why
would what Jesus told the man to do, make the Pharisees angry? (Hint: See question eight below)
6. Who
is the next disciple called and what was his profession?
7. What
did the Pharisees object to and what was Jesus’ answer to them?
8. The
Jews had strict rules about what you could and could not do on the Sabbath. For a reference in the Old Testament, you may
wish to read Deuteronomy 23:25.
9. What
is so sensible about what Jesus answered these religious rulers?
10.
Bonus Question: This is optional and may take a bit more
study and you may wish to complete it later:
Rewrite what you think the parable of the patch of unshrunk cloth on an
old garment (verses 21-22) in your own words as if you are explaining it to a ten-year
old. What does it mean?
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you each day)

search for ‘WeakDay Devotion’. (Also,
there is an android ‘Google
