THANK YOU FOR BEING OUR LIVING EXAMPLE

“And Jesus was going about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people.  And the news about Him went out into all Syria; and they brought to Him all who were ill, taken with various diseases and pains demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics, and He healed them.” Matthew 4:23-24

“And the apostles gathered together with Jesus; and they reported to Him all that they had done and taught.  And He said to them, ‘Come away by yourselves to a lonely place and rest awhile.’” Marks 6:30-31a

“And He summoned the multitude with His disciples, and said to them, ‘If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.  For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake and the Gospel’s shall save it.’” Mark 8:34-35

“And they were bringing even their babies to Him so that He might touch them, but when the disciples saw it, they began rebuking them.  But Jesus called for them, saying, ‘Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it at all.’” Luke 18:15-18

“And so when He had washed their feet, and taken His garments and reclined at the table again, He said to them, ‘Do you know what I have done to you?  You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am.  If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.  For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you.’” John 13:12-15

Searching for Scriptures that would illustrate how the Lord showed and lived as an example for each of us was an amazing experience for me.  There are so many that speak strongly to me, but of course you will not have time to read too much in the devotion.  But the Gospels are brimming over with wonderful examples we can all follow ... He taught, proclaimed, healed, rested, rebuked, summoned.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who still prays for you each morning.  Darlene

PS:  Please pray for this ministry.  This is the 20th year of endeavouring to serve others in His name to offer a smattering of Scripture daily.  Find my statement of faith by clicking (or cut and paste this link into your Web browser):  https://especiallyhislove.blogspot.com   You can find the WeakDay Devotion online by doing a Google search for “WeakDay Devotion”  (Also, there is an android “Google Blogger” app you can download to read them on your phone.)
