[Jesus teaching] "'Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. And do not judge and you will not be judged;
and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be
pardoned.
"'Give,
and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together,
running over, they will pour into your lap.
For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.'" Luke 6:38
"Thou
dost prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; Thou hast
anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my
life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Psalm 23
"God withholds what we desire in
order to give us what we need. You
desire a spouse; He gives you Himself.
You seek a larger church; He prefers a stronger church. You want to be healed so you can serve. He wants you confined so you can pray."*
Most of us can remember when we were
children, and it was our birthday. Mom
and/or Dad would make whatever preparations were possible and find a way to
give you a surprise present. Some of us
can remember not getting just what we had in mind...but how we learned the
value and joy of what we did receive and came to realise they wanted the very
best for us.
Now magnify that love a million-gazillion
times and that is just a hint of how much your Heavenly Father loves you and
wants the best for you. The difference,
of course, is that the Lord knows what is best for us always.
Take care with love, especially His! Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays
for you each morning, Darlene
