"Now
at the feast the governor was accustomed to release for the multitude any one
prisoner whom they wanted. And they were
holding, at that time a notorious prisoner, called Barabbas.
"When
therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, 'Whom do you want
me to release for you? Barabbas or Jesus
who is called Christ?' For he knew that
because of envy they had delivered Him up." Matthew 27:15-18
"Do
not fret because of evildoers, be not envious toward wrongdoers, for they will
wither quickly just like the grass, and fade like the green herb.
"Trust
in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will
give you the desires of your heart."
Psalm 37:1-4
"The cure for jealousy? Trust.
The cause of jealousy?
Distrust."*
We spent all last year looking closely
with the issues of trust and distrust.
When we are not trusting, it is not others we are not trusting, it is
the Lord, who knows all, who controls all, who orchestrates all and who above
all, loves us always. His grace is far
greater than anything we can imagine. So
trusting is necessary if we are to remain sensible!
Take care with love, especially His! Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays
for you each morning, Darlene
