Sin Foundations - Third Covenant

"Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.  And the Lord smelled the soothing aroma; and the Lord said to Himself, 'I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man's heart is evil from his youth;

"'and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done.  While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.'" Genesis 8:20-22

This is God's third universal covenant.  Noah has just passed through the universal flood where all life was destroyed except for Noah, his wife, three sons and their wives.  God re-establishes the preciousness of life and His hope begins again.

"But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.  The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

"But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and aits works will be burned up." II Peter 3:8-10

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
