Sin Foundations - Defiance

"And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.  And the Lord said, 'Behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language.  And this is what they began to do, and now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them.  Come let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.'

"So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of the whole earth; and they stopped building the city.  Therefore its name was called Babel; because there the Lord confused the language of the whole earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of the whole earth." Genesis 11:5-9

Nimrod was the son of Canaan, the son of Ham, the son of defiance and resentment who bore the curse of God for his father's act of spite.   Nimrod was a hunter, and by some accounts was a leader of great ambition and evil desires, perhaps to vindicate himself and his father in the eyes of the world.  He gathered the nations together to build a tower to the heavens in an effort, not to escape a future flood, but to defy the Lord's express command to scatter and populate the earth.  Yet, God knows His plan and here worked to "nudge" progress.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
