Sin Foundations - Heros

"Then the Lord said, 'My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.'

"The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them.  These were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown."  Genesis 6:3-4

These were descendants of Anak, men whose exploits of strength and violence had made them famous in song and fable in all nations in the ages following the Flood.  To rebellious men of later times, they were revered as great heroes.

In God's sight they were merely ungodly men of violence and evil, begotten by rebellious and unacceptable ways..Sometimes we can become beguiled by heroes and leaders, statesmen and royalty, when only God raises up; and He brings low those who would shake their fist at Him.

"'The Lord kills and makes alive; He brings down to Sheol and raises up.  The Lord makes poor and rich; He brings low, He also exalts.  He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with nobles, and inherit a seat of honour;'" I Samuel 2:6-8a

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
