by Christian Worship & Scripture Songs (Esther Mui)

God gives us life and nestles us into the family of His choice.  He directs our paths – our achievements and our stumbles – knowing the exact time He will bring us to His cross.  Along the way, He gives us family and friends to raise us and teach us, to challenge and defeat us and always for our good and His glory.

This WeakEnd Assignment is a reminder of the amazing perfection of God’s choices in the people who surround our lives over time.

1.    Set aside an hour and find a place where you will not be interrupted.

2.    Bring your Bible, notebook, something to write with and a refreshment.

3.    Settle your heart and pray that the Lord will remind you of special characters in your life.

4.    Date a fresh page in your notebook and write down the names of your parents, siblings and special friends.  Limit your list to 12.

5.    Beside each name write one or two memories that were of high importance in your spiritual journey.

6.    Read Psalm 139 and note the verses that relate to the way God has guided you through people.

7.    Sometimes these memories will be of difficulties or pain and sometimes these memories will be of the best of times.

8.    Pick three and write a note to each one to thank them for contributing to your growth path in the Lord.

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you each day)
