Peter Hollens feat. Nathan Pacheco by Peter Hollens

Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, you who have been born by Me from birth, and have been carried from the womb; even to your old age, I shall be the same, and even to your graying years I shall bear you!  I have done it, and I shall carry you; and I shall bear you, and I shall deliver you.” Isaiah 46:3-5

On November 7 1998, David had his second heart attack and was recovering in the hospital.  His courage in the face of his obvious vulnerability was evident as I spoke with him almost every day during his recovery.  The passage above from Isaiah was the one we often prayed for his encouragement.

Today, he is thriving and has taught many of the joys of every day blessings.  So this passage from Isaiah (also one of his favourites) is a reminder for us all of Who controls life.

“Do you not know?  Have you not heard?  The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired.  His understanding is inscrutable.  He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power.

Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.

[God speaking] “’You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its remotest parts, and said to you, ‘You are My servant.  I have chosen you and not rejected you.  Do not fear, for I am with you’ do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you.  Surely, I will help you.  Surely, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” Isaiah 40:28-31; 41:9-10

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you each day)
