Love one another as I have loved you (John 13:34) by Chrissiela

“I say this in order that no one may delude you with persuasive argument.  For even though I am absent in body, nevertheless I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good discipline and the stability of your faith in Christ.

“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.” Colossians 2:4-7

“So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:12-13

“ … until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man to the measure of stature which belongs to the fulness of Christ.  As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming.

“but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.” Ephesians 4:12-16

Why is life so unfair?  Does God cause suffering or allow it?  And why.  And what is the difference?  Why does God sometimes seem silent and sometimes so close you can feel His compassionate breath on your cheek?

The book of Job doesn’t really answer the question, no matter how hard you look!  The Bible seems ambiguously silent.  Yet there are two reason He remains silent (which I will explore with you this week).  For now, consider the scripture verses above.

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays with and for you each day)
