 Why the Pandemic – COVID-19?

"Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.'

“ Then God said, 'Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to everything that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food.'"  Genesis 1-26, 28-30

"They were hungry and thirsty; their soul fainted within them.  Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He delivered them out of their distresses.  He led them also by a straight way, to go to an inhabited city.

Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness, and for His wonders to the sons of men!  For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, and the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.”  Psalm 107:5-9

[Jesus teaching] "'But when he [the Prodigal son} came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have more than enough bread, but I am dying here with hunger!  I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son;' make me as one of your hired men.''"  Luke 15:17-19

We watch as a new pandemic moves throughout the world and see various nations reacting with their own ideas of how to manage this serious situation.  Those infected and those dying from this invisible danger seem helpless.  How could this be part of God’s plan?

Evil seems to grow unchecked around us.  So many turn against the loving Father God.  Although we can never know the mind of God, we can trust His plan to always be for our good and His Glory.  God is never too weary to reach out to offer safety and peace to those who are desperate and lost.

During times like this, it is good to take more time with the Heavenly Father, reading His Word and sharing prayers with Him.  We also must take sensible precautions.  [Jesus teaching] “’Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; therefore, be shrewd as serpents, and innocent as doves.’” Matthew 10:16.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who still prays for you each morning. Darlene

To serve you in a new way, I’m researching and writing practical information for you about the pandemic.  Please visit:  https://newsaboutcovid19.blogspot.com/

Now declared a Pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO).  Please pray for the health care workers, those trying to contain the spread and most importantly those who contract the virus – that they are wise and take precautions to protect others.

·        Today in 125 countries
·        133,181 confirmed cases
·        5,923 critical condition
·        4,950 reported deaths
  • Scott getting married March 26th, they will be a blended and Blessed couple.  Thank you for praying all these years for him and his children.
  • Baby Jolie– a year old, struggling to recover from meningitis and kidney failure.  Still in hospital.  Her leg wound remains a concern and amputation is still a possibility.  She is responding and VERY SLOWLY getting better.  Many hurdles have been crossed with prayer and great Doctors.  There are several more to cross before she can go home where she will need full-time nursing care.  Hopefully, she will be home soon.  Praise the Lord.  Family so grateful for all your prayers.
  • Savannah – has a very long road to travel.  The 15-year-old granddaughter of Cliff and Beth, diagnosed with a difficult-to-treat, psychological disorder with potential serious consequences.  New meds seem to be helping.  She is showing progress with this brain injury.  Pray for her attitude, wisdom for her health carers, patience for her parents and complete healing.
  • USA President Donald Trump – It is our responsibility as Christians to remember God has a plan through this man.  If you doubt the importance of his appointment, just look at how much antagonism there is against him.  Surely Satan is NOT happy and means to thwart God’s plan.  Pray someone helps President Trump understand the true meaning of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, that he will have a driving hunger to read God’s Word for himself and that God sends a Bible-believing Christian to regularly disciple him in the Truth and that God shuts the mouths of the false prophets who circle around him.
  • Fred – is making plans to move from California to Tennessee in the first quarter of 2020.  Pray for his wise attention to detail, stamina and roaring good health as he makes these life changes.
  • Tracey – Pray Tracey finds a new role to satisfy her and allow her to grow and share her skills and wisdom.
  • Me – New project going well.  Thank you for praying (ends 9 April).  Laptop due back this week, hopefully.

PRAY FOR THOSE IN FULL-TIME SERVICE
