HOPE AND A PRAYER REQUEST

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives, and freedom to prisoners; --

“They will rebuild the ancient ruins, they will raise up the former devastations, and they will repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations. - For I, the Lord, love justice.  I hate robbery in the burnt offering; and I will faithfully give them their recompense.  And I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

“Then their offspring will be known among the nations, and their descendants in the midst of the peoples.  All who see them will recognize them because they are the offspring whom the Lord has blessed."  Isaiah 61:1, 4, 8-9

"We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for all the saints; because of the hope laid up for you in heaven, of which you previously heard in the Word of Truth, the Gospel, which has come to you, just as in all the world also it is constantly bearing fruit and increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you heard of it and understood the grace of God in truth;"  Colossians 1:3-6

"God don't make no junk!" she assured me, a new Christian.  I knew the grammar was wrong, but the message was right.  There must be some purpose for all this stuff happening around me!  I had the assurance of Hope, that Jesus lives in my heart, is wise enough to know what He's doing and powerful enough to do what needs to be done.

Today, our world has been surprised by an invisible enemy that is quickly changing the way we live, work and go about our days.  Lives will be lost, businesses will close – so much is and will continue to change.  Please pray people begin to look up to the One who rules over all -- regardless of THEIR class, race or wealth.

Pray for your own strength and courage.  Remind yourself in the inevitable weak moments that will come that God’s will is perfect and that nothing He does is with evil intent.  All He does is designed to fulfil His righteous plan to save as many individuals for eternity as possible.  His hand is working right now in our lives for our good and His glory.

Take care, your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene (who still prays for you each morning).

NEW PRAYER REQUESTS and UPDATES

(NOTE:  Words underlined have a link embedded to provide more details)

To serve you in a new way, I’m researching and writing practical information for you about the pandemic.  Please visit:  https://newsaboutcovid19.blogspot.com/

Now declared a Pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO), a national emergency by USA and Australia.  Please pray for all involved, for health care workers, those trying to contain the spread; for those contagious and for those who contract the virus and for the families who have lost loved ones.  Pray they are wise, patient and take precautions to protect others.
·        Today in 172 countries
·        216,843 confirmed cases
·        6,868 critical condition
·        8,908 reported deaths
  • Scott getting married March 26th, they will be a blended and Blessed couple.  Thank you for praying all these years for him and his children.
  • Baby Jolie– a year old, struggling to recover from meningitis and kidney failure.  Still in hospital.  Her leg may still require amputation.  She is responding VERY SLOWLY.  Many hurdles must be crossed.  Pray for her, her parents and her health care providers.  Once home, hopefully soon, she will need full-time nursing care.  Praise the Lord.  Family so grateful for all your prayers.
  • Savannah – has a very long road to travel.  The 15-year-old granddaughter of Cliff and Beth, diagnosed with a difficult-to-treat, psychological disorder with potential serious consequences.  New meds seem to be helping.  She is showing progress with this brain injury.  Pray for her attitude, wisdom for her health carers, patience for her parents and complete healing.
  • USA President Donald Trump – It is our responsibility as Christians to remember God has a plan through this man.  If you doubt the importance of his appointment, just look at how much antagonism there is against him.  Surely Satan is NOT happy and means to thwart God’s plan.  Pray someone helps President Trump understand the true meaning of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, that he will have a driving hunger to read God’s Word for himself and that God sends a Bible-believing Christian to regularly disciple him in the Truth and that God shuts the mouths of the false prophets who circle around him.
  • Fred – is making plans to move from California to Tennessee in the first quarter of 2020.  Pray for his wise attention to detail, stamina and roaring good health as he makes these life changes.
  • Tracey – Pray Tracey finds a new role to satisfy her and allow her to grow and share her skills and wisdom.
  • Me – New project going well.  Thank you for praying (ends 9 April).  Laptop due back this week, hopefully.

  • Audley M – is thankful the Lord sustained his health through 2019 (the first in five years he did not have to be hospitalized).  To God be the glory!
