How Long?

“How long, O Lord, will I call for help and Thou wilt not hear?  I cry out to Thee, ‘Violence!’ yet Thou doest not save.  Why dost Thou make me see iniquity, and cause me to look on wickedness?

“Yes destruction and violence are before me; strife exists and contention arises.  Therefore the law is ignored and justice is never upheld.  For the wicked surround the righteous; therefore, justice comes out perverted.”  Habakkuk 1:1-4

The world around us is violent and self-centred; it seems to grow more so each day, yet even in this whirlwind of strife the Lord is using all for His glory.  I sometimes have to wonder how.

“For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen in not hope; for why does one also hope for what he sees?  But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

“And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groaning too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:24-28

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
