Fear of People or God?

“And Samuel said, ‘Has the Lord as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord?  Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams.  For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and insubordination is as iniquity and idolatry.  Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has also rejected you from being king.”

“Then Saul said to Samuel, ‘I have sinned; I have indeed transgressed the command of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and listened to their voice.’” I Samuel 15:22-24

We are to pattern our lives and ministry on the example left behind by the Lord Jesus Christ, who trusted His very life into the hands of His Father KNOWING He always would watch over Him for the good of Father-God’s plan for His world.

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

“For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you may not grow weary and lose heart.  You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin;” Hebrews 12:1-4

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
