Yea I Know It!

“’And the Father who sent Me, He has borne witness of Me.  You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.  And you do not have His Word abiding in you, for you do not believe Him whom He sent.  You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is these that bear witness of Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me that you may have life.’” John 5:37-40

“’Abide in Me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me.  I am the vine and you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.  If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch, and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.  If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish and it shall be done for you.’” John 15:4-7

“There is no substitute for getting to know Christ, and this is the greatest need of our lives, not so that we might hero-worship Him from a distance, but that we might allow Him the freedom to be what He is, in our lives and our experience.

“Understanding is necessary, but I am troubled by the number of Christian people who will discuss, debate and propagate Christian truths that have never become part of their experience.  Doctrine is only valuable as it equips us to live correctly.”*

This devotion is written to offer more Scripture than ideas and opinions; for some this will be the only Scripture they will take time to read.  Some have even complained they do not have time to read this much.  But how can we establish our intimacy with Christ, without learning the Truth that is written about Him so we CAN know?

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
