Cup or Pipe?

“Behold, a king will reign righteously, and princes will rule justly.  And each will be like a refuge from the wind, and a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry country, like the shade of a huge rock in a parched land.  Then the eyes of those who see will not be blinded, and the ears of those who hear will listen.  And the mind of the hasty will discern the truth, and the tongue of the stammerers will hasten to speak clearly.” Isaiah 32:1-4

“Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ‘If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.  He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water.’”John 7:37-39

“The Holy Spirit comes to us that He might flow through us. – The Spirit is described by Jesus as being like a stream of living water that will flow from within the believer.  The Spirit is not poured into lives like water poured into a cup, but like water poured into a pipe!  When a cup is full, it is full!  But everything that is poured into a pipe will flow through it.  That is a picture of our lives.”*

We “hold” liquid in a cup...from a tap comes fresh water that flows and flows.  I LOVE this illustration...just THINK of being a font of the Father’s love to those around you!  Isn’t that just AMAZING?

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
