Understanding Evil?

“For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. -- Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the roll of the book it is written of Me) to do Thy will, O God.’  After saying above, ‘Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin Thou has not desired, nor hast Thou taken pleasure in them’ (which are offered according to the Law), then He said, ‘Behold, I have come to do Thy will.’

“He takes away the first in order to establish the second.  By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.  And every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet.” Hebrews 10:4-13

“...we are much more ready to understand the devils values than we are Gods!  We find it much easier to believe the bad news, than we do the good news.  We hold an intrinsic attitude toward ourselves that is negative, and too ready to assume wrong, to accept guilt and to feel condemned, rather than to believe in forgiveness, accept righteousness and enjoy liberty.  I am not saying this to undermine the reality of sin or the seriousness of guilt, but to show that they are NOT the last words in our vocabulary.  Sin has BEEN dealt with, guild CAN be erased!”*

Christ triumphed over evil for all time...it is our gift of hope for the future and to fuel our individual, daily choices for the personal ministry He has entrusted to us in His name!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
