Finished Work!

[Jesus said:] “’For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.  For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.  He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:16-18

“Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all the land until the ninth hour.  And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?’ that is, ‘My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?’” Matthew 27:45-46

Again:  “The only time Satan does not tell lies is when he talks to us about our sin, for most of us recognise that the truth is bad enough!  However, the lie is to take that sin from under the blood of Christ where is has BEEN dealt with, cleansed, forgiven and forgotten and to re-expose it to us in order to condemn us and compromise our walk.”*

Jesus finished the work...Once we accept His gracious gift of new life in Him through the work of the Holy Spirit within us, His grace guarantees that we can do nothing to make Him love us more; we can do nothing to make Him love us less!  The power of His sacrifice is beyond the comprehension of all of us because we live in a fallen world full of comparisons and measurement and goal lines!  Resting in His arms is the only hope there is!

May your Easter holiday be more than time off and more than a feast or chocolate bunnies!  May it be a reminder of the love and grace of our almighty Father-God!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
