Power of Guilt

“How blesses is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered!  How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit!

“When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long.  For day and night Thy hand was heavy upon me; my vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer.”  Psalm 32:3-4

“Speaking on BBC radio, the head of a mental institution in Scotland made an astonishing observation, ‘If my patients could be assured of forgiveness, half of them could go home tomorrow’, he claimed.  An enormous number of mntal breakdowns are a result of guilt that has never been dealt with.  He put the figure as high as fifty percent. – Guilt is ‘heavy’.  Guilt is tiring!  Guild makes us groan!  But how do we cope with it?”*

They say speed kills; this is true, and a greater killer is guilt.  It kills our heart attitude toward the Father and the life He has given us.  It kills our relationships.  It kills the joy of others around us.  It kills our joy for life.  It can even kill those who do not know how to relieve their guilt.  There is a way...

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
