Money Fruit

“But godliness actually is a means of great gain, when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either.  And if we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.

“But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.  For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith, and pierced themselves with many a pang.  But flee from these things, you man of God; and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love perseverance and gentleness.” I Timothy 6:6-11

“And looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him, and said to him, ‘One thing you lack; go and sell all you possess; and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow  Me.’

“But at these words his face fell, and he went away grieved, for he was one who owned much property.  And Jesus looking around, said to His disciples, ‘How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!’” Mark 10:23

“Money is a very useful servant, but it is a terrible master.  The rich young ruler was turned away by the Lord Jesus Christ because he was not willing to part with his money, and Jesus added to his bewildered disciples who were amazed at the conversation they had just witnessed.  There is a wonderful contentment in knowing all you need for all God plans He will provide, and the repentant person learns to be content.”*

God doesn’t need your money...He gives you the opportunity to manage resources He provides through His mysterious ways.  So, a spirit of humility and thanksgiving for what you have right now -- knowing He knows this -- is the best approach with money.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
