What's the Difference?!

“And as He passed by, He saw a man blind from birth.  And His disciples asked Him, saying ‘Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents that he should be born blind?’

“Jesus answered, ‘It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was in order that the works of God might be displayed in him.’

“Now it was the Sabbath on the day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.  Again, therefore, the Pharisees were asking him how he received his sight.  And he said to them, ‘He applied clay to my eyes, and I washed, and I see.’

“So a second time they called the man who had been blind and said to him, ‘Give glory to God; we know that this man is a sinner.’  He therefore answered, ‘Whether He is a sinner, I do not know, one thing I do know, that whereas I was blind, now I see.’” John 9:1-3, 14-15, 24-25

“Once Richard turned to me with a puzzled look, “I don’t get it, Philip,’ he said.  ‘We read many of the same books, and share many of the same values.  You seem to understand my doubt and disappointment.  And yet somehow you find it possible to believe, but I don’t.  What’s the difference?  Where did you get your faith?’”*

God’s timing is perfect.  Our perspective and perception of God and His divine plan for us is flawed.  I’ve spoken of Ken before, and his great search and open need of KNOWING Christ and his frustration at not finding the answer he sought when he sought it.  God knows best and He promises that every individual will have ample opportunity to accept His free and gracious gift of salvation or not.  And God never lies!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
