Silent Fighting

O God, do not remain quiet; do not be silent and, O God, do not be still. For, behold, Thine enemies make an uproar; and those who hate Thee have exalted themselves. They make shrewd plans against Thy people, and conspire together against Thy treasured ones.” Psalm 83:1-2

“The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.” Exodus 14:14

John Milton, a 17th century, English poet wrote: “They also serve who only stand and wait.” And that is a very powerful statement. Think about it. So many times we want to DO something – ANYTHING! To fix it, to make it all better, to hurry up the results, to “prevent a disaster”. As if the Lord doesn’t have a clue what’s happening in His world. Sometimes -- in fact, more times than not, it is better to wait on Him.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might, He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.” Isaiah 40:28-31

Run to God's Word. Take care. Your servant & friend in Christ, Darlene
